A 365 Day Global Prayer Journey - Jan. 20 (Day 20)

It's my favorite part of the prayer time again -- celebrating how God has answered prayers, this time for the Americas! My heart soars as we come together today. Please read "Answers to Prayer" on pages 48-49, then come back to celebrate with me!

My prayer for today: Praise God from Whom all blessings flow! Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly host. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Oh, Lord, we do praise You today. I praise You for the blessings You've poured out on the Americas - historically and recently. Lord, what do we have that did not first belong to You? Nothing. You are perfect, holy, and righteous, and I am always amazed that You hear and respond to the prayers of people ... and yet You do. Thank You, Lord, for hearing the cries of many for political stability in Latin America. We ask, Lord, that they will use their stability for good and not evil, and that the church will grasp the opportunity to share the Gospel and live quiet, peaceful lives in godliness and dignity. Thank You for the growth of evangelicals, especially in Latin America, as more and more come to hold firmly to the truth of Your word, the uniqueness of Jesus, the empowering of the Holy Spirit, and the importance of sharing the Gospel. We pray for unity and not dissension as growth continues. We thank You for breathing a fresh wind of Your Spirit through the Catholic church and we ask You to continue that, make them solid and strong for You. They have such influence Lord; we pray it will direct people more to Jesus and the Word of God. Lord, we thank You for the Pentecostal impact among the poor, but we do pray for stronger discipling and accuracy in reporting numbers. Thank You for the impact of Your people and we pray that they will not be seduced by power, but will stay focused on Your Word.  Thank You also for the expansion of the Gospel among the AmerIndian groups; we pray, Lord, that You will guide as the church takes unique and beautiful forms among them. We pray the Gospel will never be compromised. Continue to advance the spread of Your word. We thank you for the creative ideas for Bible translation that have come from the Americas and benefited the world. Thank You for the missions vision and the media opportunities - may those trends converge in a way that is a blessing to many. Lord, we thank You for all the missionaries and preachers and writers and givers that have heard and obeyed the call. We pray for continued generosity and for humility as Your church grows so much in other parts of the world. Help the church in the Americas have the grace to be in a supporting rather than leading role. Oh Lord, You have done so much. We are so grateful. Praise You, Lord, from whom all these blessings flow. Amen.
