A Detour in the Journey

It was bound to happen over the course of a year.

I went to post today's blog to Facebook and realized there wasn't one - I had inadvertently combined two countries earlier this week, throwing me a day off all down the line. :(

So today, we are scheduled in Operation World to continue praying for Australia. I urge you to do so.

I also urge you to join me in what I believe is God's purpose in allowing this detour: To focus a little extra prayer on Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani in Iran and the persecuted church globally. A link to the latest on Pastor Youcef, along with Scriptures I compiled to pray for him last fall, can be found here.

Pastor Youcef is just the latest face of a worldwide reality: the persecution of Christians. That it's been around since the time of Christ, and will continue until His return, does not make it any less important today. I've written about this issue at length on this blog over the years, and I won't repeat all of that information today (if you are interested in reading more, check out the blog posts listed at the end of this post). Today, let's just lift him and his family and church up to the throne room - and while you are there, ask God to minister to all of the unnamed, unseen who are suffering persecution of various forms today.
