Praying for Georgia: A 365 Day Global Prayer Journey - May 29 (Day 150)

Today we pray for one of the former Soviet satellite states that has been in the news for continued conflict with Russia. Please read about Georgia on pages 355-358.

My prayer for today: Lord, we are thankful for the changes since 1991 - the reduced corruption, the political and economic reform, the transition from a department of atheism to a theological department, and the growth of the church. You are so good and Your timing is so perfect. Lord, we pray for Your peace to permeate the ethnic wars throughout Georgia. We pray that Christians will set the tone by crossing ethnic lines in all the churches and truly modeling the peace of Jesus. We pray for the Word of God to breathe new life within the Georgian Orthodox Church and for renewal among its leaders. We pray for respect and understanding - and unity - between the Orthodox and other churches. We pray for provision of creative work to develop the areas where evangelicals experience almost 100% unemployment or underemployment. Lord, we pray for wisdom for the churches to know how to help in constructive ways and we pray for any outside help to truly come alongside the churches and not further dependency. We pray for You to provide for the church so they can meet the needs of the communities in which You place them. In Jesus' name, amen.
