While the civil war and genocide in Rwanda has garnered international attention in the years since it occurred, struggles between the same ethnic groups in Burundi have not been as visible to the rest of the world. Thankfully God has been at work, bringing stability and even a Christian president. While the growth of the church is not as exponential as that seen in some countries, significantly the church has realized that "nominal, shallow Christianity is inadequate" and the church today is intentionally holistic and growing deep in the Lord.
